Sixteen patients with osteolytic lesions of the chest wall underwent an ultrasonically guided puncture. There were 14 malignant and 2 benign lesions. Definitive specific histologic diagnosis was made by US in 14 of the 16 patients ( percent).

Of the 14 patients, 13 had malignant lesions and 1 had a benign lesion. Results. There was no statistically significant difference between the techniques for the mean (SD) number of trials to make a correct puncture, at () in the EN technique and () in the triangulation technique, or for the duration of each trial, at () s for the EN technique and () s for the triangulation technique.

The technique was improved by ultrasonically guided puncture, and the procedure was successful in 96% of the examinations. Collateral veins were visualized in 81% and esophageal or gastric varices in 69% of the patients with portal hypertension. The procedure was performed with little risk and discomfort, and portograms of high quality were.

The outer diameter of the endoscope is mm., and its end is round in shape. The trocar sheath has an air perfusion tap (Fig, lA and B). In 4 piglets the gallbladder was punctured under sonographic control threetimes during a period of 46 days. In this study we compare the efficacy of ultrasonically guided percutaneous oocyte collection for in-vitro fertilization with ultrasonically guided transvaginal oocyte collection.

Our experience of this technique went as anticipated without any complications. The association of ultrasonography, ultrasonically guided pancreatography, and aspiration. Sincewe have employed ultrasonically guided puncture method in our department and tried to apply this method to diagnosis and therapy in various urological diseases.

Concurrently, we have demonstrated the accuracy and safety of this puncture method. Ultrasonically guided percutaneous puncture technique Ultrasonically guided percutaneous puncture technique Holm, H.

H.; Rasmussen, S. N⊘Rby; Kvist Kristensen, J. Ultrasound provides anatomical sectional pictures of organs and lesions on the basis of which optimum direction and depth of puncture can be established. Abstract: Since the introduction of the B-mode puncture probe ultrasonically-guided puncture technique has rapidly developed.

It can not only show the general anatomic structure in every section, the focal location, action of the examined organ and its relation with the tissues around, but also the route the puncture needle takes and the location of the tip of the needle, so that the puncture.

The authors describe a cannula that has been modified to improve its visibility during ultrasonically guided biopsies of the brain. To enhance the echogenicity of the tip of the cannula, six parallel rings, to mm deep and to mm apart, were etched into the tip of the cannula. 07 Holm HH, Kristensen JK.

Radiology ; – 10 Saitoh M, Watanabe H, Ohe H et al. Ultrasonic real-time. Considering all these studies, US-guided axillary vein puncture has a success rate ranging from 80% to 99%.

25,38–40 Compared with other available access routes, this rate appears better than that reported for cephalic vein dissection (64–87%) 31,44,46,49 and similar to that reported for venography-guided axillary puncture (90–98%), 10, We report two cases of pneumothorax detected by echographic examination immediately after ultrasonically guided aspiration biopsy and confirmed by chest x-ray film.

The pneumothorax was characterized by the disappearance of the lung tumor. In the real-time image, the respiratory excursions of the visceral pleura also disappeared. In Jan Fog Pedersen of the Gentofte Hospital laboratory developed a technique for ultrasonically guided puncture using a linear array transducer.

In the group published one of the earliest mechanical sector real-time scanners in the world, consisting of a continuously rotating wheel with radially-mounted transducers.

Conclusion Chest US-guided biopsy in the diagnosis of peripheral lung lesions is a safe and fast procedure with high diagnostic yield and fewer complications. View full-text Article.

To reduce the risk of hemorrhagic complications associated with the double-wall puncture technique, we tested a new single-wall puncture technique. The procedure was performed times in patients with hematologic malignancies and 1, times those with solid tumors.

The lumbar puncture course uses an advanced simulator to teach students proper lumbar puncture technique in both the lateral decubitus postion and the sitting position and how to measure the opening pressure.[Ultrasonically guided puncture technique in urology using real-time scanner (author's transl)].

Ultrasonically-guided fine needle aspiration biopsy of retroperitoneal mass lesions was performed in 96 consecutive patients.

The puncture was done transperitoneally, guided by a dynamic scanner. The procedure is rapid with a high diagnostic sensitivity and specificity.
